Drake Ft. Rihanna – Take Care

Drake album leaked online just over a week ahead of its planned release on November 15. Drizzy reunites with Rihanna on the lead single “Take Care,” of the album of the same name. Rihanna reaches out a hand to a vulnerable Drake. “If you let me, here’s what I’ll do/ I’ll take care of you,” she sings the late Scott-Heron’s lyrics on the tender hook, while Drake says he’ll be waiting for her to let her guard down. “When all the baggage just ain’t as heavy and the party’s over,” he sings. Despite the leak Drizzy gave the 17 tracks now available for download his blessings on Twitter. “I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore,” tweeted Drake. “Listen, enjoy it, buy it if you like it…and take care until next time.”

Elephant Man Gears up for another African Tour

After rocking thousands of fans in Zimbabwe earlier this year, Dancehall energy god Elephant Man will return to the African continent this December for two shows the first of which will be in Uganda on December 2nd and the other in Kigali Rwanda on December 3rd. Ele who continues to do well as a tour deejay is booked to make his debut performance in Uganda at the Lugogo Cricket Oval before traveling to Rwanda to perform at the Expo Ground Gikodo a day later. Since the start of the year the Solid Agency represented artist has traveled a number of countries such as Panama, France, Italy, Austria, Holland, Germany and Switzerland to name a few. Currently promoting a host of new singles including “Qweffa”, “Let’s Go” Gyal We Love” on the popular Overproof Riddim and the mega collab “Survivor” alongside longtime friend and dancehall gladiator Bounty Killer with whom the official video was recently shot, Elephant Man continues to serve up high energy feel good music to his fans worldwide.
Prominent Dancehall deejay, Michelle “D’Angel” Downer has called for her exes & fellow artistes, Beenie Man & Bounty Killer, to stop using her name to promote their lyrical feud.

On Friday, D’Angel unveiled her latest single entitled, “Good Good,” where she makes claims that her “Goodies” is what recently re-ignited the rivalry between Bounty & Beenie. In the single, D’Angel refers to herself as “The Ex” before deejaying, “Di odda day mi see two man a par, All of a sudden my goods mek two man a war, and di two man a two mega star, Me unnu wan blame? Betta doe tek it too far.” Later in the song, D’Angel warned Bounty Killer that he’d be a b***h if he counteracted the single while reminding Beenie that he’s her baby’s father and should be careful what he says publicly about their relationship.

The Wall Street protestors have caught the attention of some top celebrities including rapper Kanye West and hip hop mogul Russel Simmons, who turned up in the Financial District to lend their support to the cause.

“I’m happy to pay a little more taxes if it means better education for our children. I don’t pay enough taxes and I know it,” Simmons told listeners on a radio program.

The participants of the event are mainly protesting against social and economic inequality, corporate greed, and the influence of corporate money and lobbyists on government, among other concerns.

Liberal commentator Michael Moore had suggested this protest represents a variety of demands with a common statement about government corruption and the excessive influence of big businessand the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans on U.S. laws and policies.

Mavado To Migrate To Africa

Mavado would not be the first reggae/dancehall star to indicate their interest in moving to the mother land. Sizzla Kalonji recently acquired land in Zimbabwe and is doing several charitable work in that country.

According to reports coming out of Ghana, dancehall Gully Gad Mavado has indicated that he plans to move to that country in the near future.

Mavado reportedly told journalists before his show in the Ghanian capitol Accra on the weekend that he is interested in settling in Ghana.

“Ghana reminds me of home,” Mavado said.

Wife of reggae legend Bob Marley, Rita currently reportedly resides at Konkonuru near Aburi in the eastern region of the country – adopting Ghana as home.

Vybz Kartel Denied Bail

Dancehall star Vybz Kartel was denied bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning to answer Marijuana possession charges.

The “Cake Soap” deejay turned up for his court appointment clad in a grey pants, blue and white stripe shirt and a black vest.

Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was refuse bail by Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey after his attorney made an application. He is schedule to return to court on November 10 on same charge.

The Portmore Empire deejay is also schedule to report to court tomorrow to answer more serious charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of firearm. Vybz Kartel is charge with the murder of St. Catherine businessman Barrington “Bossie” Burton.

Yesterday another member of the Portmore Empire, Shawn Storm, turned himself into police after he was named as a person of interest late last week. Police say they are targetting members of the Gaza gang who they claim have been intimidating witnesses in a bid to scuttle the prosecution’s case.

According to police reports, several members of the gang have since been taken into custody

T.I. Release From Prison, Preps Reality Show For VH1

Atlanta rapper T.I. is finally a free man after serving nearly a year behind bars for a probation violation last summer.
TIP was released one month early from a federal prison, where he was serving his sentence. Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke said the rapper, real name is Clifford Harris, was released at 7:29 a.m. Central time from the Forrest City low-security prison in Arkansas.

Shortly after his release, TIP hit up fans on Twitter:

“Feels great to be back where I belong…Back in the arms of those who need me the most.”

“The storm is over & da sun back out. IT’S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!! Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!” (T.I. Twitter)

T.I. will be starring in a yet to be titled 10-episode reality show series, airing on December 5th at 10 p.m.

Each half-hour episode will see him “re-acclimate back into his life as a father, husband, son and friend, as well as a musician, a clothier, a businessman, and an actor.” He will also document the recording of his new album, the follow-up to last year’s No Mercy.

“Viewers have always connected with T.I. and we are definitely thrilled to show the next chapter of this incredible artist’s riveting life with this new series,” said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production VH1. “T.I. is such a multi- talented artist and actor, and though he has had some setbacks, there is no doubt he will use his considerable talents to get back on top of both the music and film business.”

While Vybz Kartel is busy launching products for bleachers, Beenie Man is launching products for smokers and drinkers.
The self proclaim King of the dancehall recently inked a new endorsement deal with Canadian businessman, Robert Todorovic, to promote Zagga Rollings, a new paper for spliff.
Todorovic said that Beenie Man was the perfect person to promote the product because “he’s an international artiste that is known. It (rolling paper) can branch out to more than Jamaica. Beenie Man is a Grammy-winning artiste so he’s one of the most popular artistes.”
